Cool MECCG Links
This page lists the best Middle-earth sites around. This is not just
every site, but the ones I feel are the best.
- ICE's official site doesn't have
too much great stuff, but they do have all the rules and some of the spoilers.
Phase two of makeovers made their site faster and more useful. If you got
scared away by the frames and images, check it out again. Their
MECCG page is a bit
hard to find.
- Questions are constantly being asked and rulings made. To keep current on
the official way to play, check out the collected rulings file, formerly
hosted by the old NetRep Ichabod, who still has the
NetMETW League page.
- Mystical Alchemy hosts a nice
site with Fourth Age Card of the Day archives, deck assistance, and other neat
stuff.
- At The
Middle-earth Card of the Day, Third Age page, you will find a wealth of
information on strategic possibilities of various cards.
- I host the archive for the
First and Second Ages of
the Card of the Day. I was the sole author for a 200 issue stint, and
wrote some good reviews, if I do say so myself.
- If you are a Windoze user, you can play Middle-earth over the 'net with
NetMETW.
If anyone is good at Mac programming, contact the author about making a port.
Otherwise we'll all have to wait until I learn Mac programming (in a couple
months).
- Chris Cable has created a page
where anyone can put up their trade lists and find cards other people have to
trade. He's also got a players list so you can find out who plays in your
area. He's also got some useful rules info. The page does use frames, images,
and java heavily, though.
- When You Know More
is a (graphically intensive) online zine that consistantly has good stuff.
- Geoff Mercer
has put together an archive of decks from various people. He's also got some
other strategy info as well as some news items.
- Alex Mohr has some of the best
general info around.
- And Steve Brown
has taken up the slack where several people have left off with weekly strategy,
combos, lists, and lots of Lidless Eye stuff. The sorts of stuff I would put
on my page if I played more and had more time.
- David Kaffine
has compiled complete card spoilers for The Wizards and The Dragons.
- If you don't have a map from ICE,
Frederik Ramm
probably has one that will suit your needs (though the download time from
Germany may take a while). There are more maps listed on the
other links page.
- There are two listservs dedicated to
Middle-earth, the Card of the Day and
the general lists.
- If you have access to newsgroups,
rec.games.trading-cards.misc is
the place to be for Middle-earth strategy and rules discussion. There are lots
of different games discussed there, so put something like [MECCG] [METW] or
[MELE] in your subject line so we know what you're talking about.
No sales, trades, or auctions permitted.
- If you're looking for trade, sales, or auctions, you want
rec.games.trading-cards.marketplace.misc
- And if I do say so myself, my Middle-earth pages
are among the top ten on the web. I've got a lot of spoilers, announcements,
some strategy, and other nice stuff.
