The first promo card for ME: LE is DEADLY DART. It works in many ways like BLACK ARROW does. You can find it in the latest issue of SCRYE. I got mine about 2 weeks ago. This card is a true promo card and does not appear in the ME: LE card set The next promo for ME: LE will be THE ARKENSTONE. This card -does- appear in the ME: LE card set. It should be released in a "month or so", according to ICE HQ. > >Lastly...does anyone have the drop on any word on what the cards are >in Lidless Eye. I've heard Sauron is in there along with a bad One >Ring! I was a playtester for ME: LE and I have the list of cards we playtested but.... 1) I can not reveal what those cards were (I signed a contract). 2) I have no idea which of those cards made it through the final cut, in any case. According to the sales material ICE has sent to stores, ME: LE will have (and I am quoting here): "Site cards: Each ME: LE site has the same name as a corresponding METW site - after all, both Ringwraith companies and Wizard companies have to be able to travel to the same sites. However, ME: LE site cards have a different template, different site paths, and different nearest Havens (i.e., nearest Dark Haven). Since the dangerous things at each site are often different for good and evil beings, the automatic-attacks at ME: LE sites differ from those at METW sites (except at Ruins & Lairs). Item Cards: Some ME: LE items have the same name as METW items (for instance, THE ARKENSTONE promo card). Such an item can be found and acquired by either type of player. However, it gives different marshalling points and often gives different abilities depending upon whether it is acquired by a Ringwraith player or a Wizard player. Hazard cards: Many hazards in Middle-Earth are equally dangerous to both Ringwraith companies and Wizard companies. After all, a Barrow-wight or a group of Wargs will not normally stop to determine whether a company is good or evil. Similarly, if DOORS OF NIGHT and corresponding environment effects are in play, they will affect everyone." The material also says that the game will allow you "to play Sauron against a Wizard player. However, the Dark Lord doesn't rampage through the lands of Middle-earth - you must play him as a master manipulator in the center of his web of minions, agents, lies, flattery, and deceit." The material also gives some info on the packaging of the ME: LE set: Starter decks: 76 cards - 3 rares, 12 uncommons (three more than in METW), 37 commons, and 24 fixed cards. There will be 5 fixed sets and the starter boxes will have a clear window on them so you can see which fixed set you are getting. Boosters: 15 cards - 1 rare, 4 uncommons, 10 common. Hope all of this helps! The minion version of The Arkenstone will be in issue #27 of InQuest (Available in June). There's a Lidless Eye checklist (no spoilers) and a preview feature in issue #26 (available this Wednesday). There's lots of cool stuff in the set, including some really nasty Elf, Dunadain and Ent hazard creatures, and yes, The Lidless Eye... a hazard permanent-event which lets you be Sauron instead of a Ringwraith. I'm pretty psyched about the set... Jeff Hannes Games Editor, InQuest IQJeff@aol.com ------- end of forwarded message -------
