since i dont have a copy of Telephone Psychics, i cannot be sure how
the numbers are printed on the card. but, numbers are taken as complete
entities, not as digits, according to Surviving On The Edge. so, if the
first complete number is a '1' and the next is '900' and the third is '7',
then the Copyright Violation character is cost 1 with AP 900 and DP 7.

the best card i am aware of is a Tie Fighter from Star Wars, according
to Jeff Tidball. it is cost 1, AP 1996, DP 1997 i think. :) the Shaquat
Beetle from spellfire isnt too bad (in the hundreds) and i have heard
of people trying to use 'Son of God' from the Christian trading card game.
all of my personal favorites are SimCity however. their numbers are not
the best, but nothing beats opening up a can of whoop ass on Prem K.
Sharma using the Pyramids. :)

well, an unfortunate ruling on Copyright Violation states that you must
shuffle the card from the other game into the deck of On The Edge cards
and it must be drawn on its own. personally, i do not care for this
ruling at all and would never enforce it myself.

best of luck. and dont forget to moustache your Blatant Scam! :)

Subject: [The Edge] Separation Question

i recently aquired a number of OnTE cards and was wondering if there was
any easy way of telling from which set they are from (i.e. limited,
unlimited, standard). i noticed the 'copyright 1995' line at the bottom
of some cards which i figured were the standard, but i'm not sure if
this is a constant within the standard set. i also could tell from some
of the errata in 'Surviving ...' which were which, however this covers a
small amount of cards, and usually doesn't distinguish between lim. and
unlim. a few of the cards' names were an orange rather than yellow. i
figure the orange are the limited. can anyone confirm or deny my
suspicions? are there any easy answers to the Separation Question?

In a game strictly for fun (as opposed to a tournament), I'd allow some
leniency in Copyright Violation use, so that someone could use the Staff of
Aaron (another card from *Redemption* the Christian CCG) as a weapon usable by
Humans against Pharaohs. (The Son of God card is an automatic Save after being
popped.)

You guessed correctly. Limited have orange titles. Unlimited have yellow
titles and no copyright date. Standard has yellow titles and the 1995
copyright notice.

pretty easy. if the collectors number begins with a C, its Cut-Ups,
a D its Shadows, and an A is Arcana. of the remaining cards, if the
card name is in orange, it is limited edition. if it is yellow and
there is _no_ copyright information at the bottom of the card, then
it is Unlimited. and if it is yellow and there is copyright information
at the bottom, it is Standard.

Well, that sucks.

You know, I was talking up the Ring of Maruff/Copyright Violation combo
some time ago... you don't think I *inspired* the ruling, do you? Now
*that* would be cool...

Copyright Violation allows you to bring a character into play that is
orders of magnitude stronger than any other. It's only fair that there
has to be some restriction on this, the restriction being that you
have to draw both CV and the foreign card in question in order to play
them.

Using black-backed sleeves at least hides the fact that you are
planning a Copyright Violation.

By the way, there was a bit of a thread a year or two back about cool
cards to use. I remember that On the Edge (Mythos) and Al Amarja
(Illuminati) were mentioned. These are thematically appropriate if not
the most deadly ways of using CV.
