On this note because I'm in the UK I've only just recently seen Dark City
by the same man who did the Crow. Now theres an idea for Over the Edge,
Oh Spoilers Ahead...

Aliens kidnapping people to their fake space city, messing with peoples
memories, everyone falling asleep at midnight and living the same few
hours again and again. Oh and the Villians bald blokes in leather named
Mr Book and Mr Hand it's just crying out to be ripped errr borrowed off :-)

Sounds like I wasn't the only one to see "Dark City." Good!

I borrowed a bit of it for my (as-yet-to-be-played)campaign. In it, I
theorized that the human race had evolved itself into a dead end.
Realizing what was about to happen, the descendents went back in time
and created a little island known as Al Amarja. This island is supposed
to be a testing ground for their ancestors, so that the descendents can
isolate and understand what it is they lost during their accelerated
evolution. These beings are known as the Watchers. They are the
uber-Conspiracy from which all of the others originate. Although they
are only supposed to watch, some of then discreetly interfere when they
want the "experiment" to go a certain way.
How do they keep from being discovered? How do they keep the experiment
from destroying itself prematurely? The answer is that they have two
powerful and secret allies on Al Amarja: the Cut-Ups Machine and the
Throckmorton Device. Both of these machines, while keeping both the
Chaos junkies and Control freaks occupied, respectively, make sure that
the Experiment flows smoothly and that the Watchers aren't discovered. I
mean, c'mon, you don't think that those machines were brought into being
by mere accident, do you?

Notice any familiar names? ;)

(snip)
As in the case of other `fire starters' we have chronicled over the
years notably _Carole Compton_ (see FT42:46, 54:67) Giuliana
was demonised by the media and the public; before long, she
was referred to as "la nina del fuego" (the fire girl) and even "la
hija del diablo" (the Devil's daughter) and was credited with the
ability to start fires by shooting fiery rays from her eyes like
Superman. Harassed by their neighbours in Pajaten, reportedly,
"the girl and her family went to the village of Uycampa," on the
eastern side of the Cordillera Central, "where they are now
living."
