Given that the Challenge Decks are about 2 months out, I can go ahead and
release some details. The set will include 10 fixed decks. Five of them will
be Wizard Decks (one for each wizard), and the other five will be Ringwraiths.
Each deck will have a window like Lidless Eye did so you can tell which deck
you are purchasing. Each Deck includes your starting characters and items,
additional characters, resources, heroes, sites, and a sideboard. Their will
be a guide to playing the decks, a basic rules summery, and suggestions as to
how to enhance the decks with cards you have out of your collection.

Each deck contains 3 rare cards. Cards come from all the sets (including White
Hand). If we used a card that has had errata or clarifications we went ahead
an changed the card text to include the new wording. The decks have been
extensively playtested and are very balanced, though some are more challenging
than others. 

As a final note, we avoided using any cards that had a value of more than $15
in the secondary market. I don't know off hand which issue of Inquest or Scrye
Mike Reynolds used to determine the card prices. More details will be forth
coming as we get closer to the release date.

As for the Balrog and the other expansions we have planned this year, one of
the advantages that they have is that (right now at least) there does not seem
to be any additional mechanics that need to be added. As development
continues, this may change, but right now we think we can do everything with
existing mechanics.
