I actually managed to win the final round of the tournament through enlightenment against a Unicorn player, thanks to a helpful draw. Shioda plays several parts in this deck. He's the perfect personality for Lessons From Kuro, he can fetch the favor, he can travel to the Refuge to get almost any card in the deck, and with a one chi boost from Sunabe, he can snag a ring from the Sisters. And while Sunabe's not training Shioda's chi he can hand out force boosters or give Seppun Kossori more personal honor. I designed this deck for a no-events tournament, but events were flipped from a central deck every ten minutes, which explains the Avoid Fate. If you'd like to add an event, Wisdom Gained is a prime choise. I've only got one Banish All Shadows in the deck because that's all I own, but I'd liked to have had two more. Ideally you'd like to cast the Iron Citadel after you've got the Ring of Earth out, which is when the barrage usually begins :-) Note that, though the deck's focus values are mostly around three, with Nemesis and Iaijitsu Art, if you start one lower and focus a three, your opponent must focus at least five to deny you the ring. Don't be affraid to attack, with the Ring of Water you have the potential to hit your opponent early to shut down production.
